There is also a pavilion and smaller playground at the beginning of the Greenway. Pretty good place for a birthday.

The Greenway is a great place to walk. Weekends get a little crowded. There is a playground on either end. Imagination Station near Collegedale City Hall and Library is the larger one. Tucker Road Recrestion is about 2 miles away and a much smaller playground. Picnic Pavilions at both locations as well which might require a reservation.
Awesome family place for proud Americans. Imagination Station playground, The military park, the fantastic scenic walkways, and the dog park. It includes everything for all ages.
Beautiful place to take a stroll at any time of the day. The Green way is clean and well kept. It has a pretty Creek that runs along next to the paved path you walk on. At the end of the Greenway is the massive playground called the imagination station. It is a pretty long walk though, so you might want to drive your kids to the playground unless they love walking a mile and a half, playing their hearts out, and walking all the way back to the car.
